Lucy Bronze midfield experiment part of two-year Lionesses plan, says Phil Neville

England Women’s head coach Phil Neville says the transition into midfield of Lucy Bronze a part of a plan for its Lionesses.
After the Lionesses didn’t spoil in Thursday’s friendly neville’s choice to deploy the UEFA Women’s Player of the Year out of position in the 3-3 draw against Belgium Women of England was questioned.
But the England Women head trainer is insistent that tactical decision was part of a plan, with the Bronze herself.
«The thing is she is [satisfied] and wishes to perform with there,» Neville said.
«She has bought into the plan of this tiny period of giving her a platform to have some consistency in that position.
«it is an entirely different mindset however I think that if we’re taking a look at a two-year strategy we must be brave in certain conditions and certain places that we’re wanting to reinforce and become much better in.
«When you have not got Jill Scott, Fran Kirby or even Jordan Nobb, we must locate players of the quality, expertise and physical ability that will require us to another level.
«Lucy will return to right back. There’s this fixation with me enjoying with with her . Pep Guardiola failed it with Phillipp Lahm, performed him in right-back when he had been one of the World Cups of the best players on earth in one.
«The next season I went to see Bayern Munich vs Borussia Monchengladbach and he was in central midfield – he was the best player on the pitch.
«You have got to have a vision for someone and you know everything? Lucy has the same vision for me. She is liked by the staff there. There will be instances when she is at times she will probably soon be in right-back and in there.
«Finally. We are attempting to make the group. We are attempting to have Lucy to influence the team more than she has right-back.»
«I liked the match we played against USA and that I played midfield afterward,» Bronze mentioned.
«It was a challenge playing against the best group in the world at a situation I haven’t played since I was 16, I totally enjoyed it.
«I played it against Canada too but I did not enjoy it . I had been tired and it is tough to perform with my place in a top rated global game let alone a place that is different.
«I was in midfield another day and I really enjoyed it. It is funny because I’m playing in midfield with just two of the younger girls from the group and I am kind of getting bossed around by these. They’re telling me that I am doing things wrong.
«It is enjoyable for me personally, I like being pushed. I am playing with a smile although I am comfy at full-back and uneasy. I am learning new things. Maybe it helps me if I return into full-back, it is a challenge.»
